Renumbering Databases

Answer

Question: Can I renumber my databases? I do not store my games in the sequence they have been played. Is it possible to renumber the database itself using the date played?

Answer: This is possible if you use ChessBase. Fritz or the other chess programs do not offer this function. It is important that you have correctly and completely filled out the date information (month, day, year) for each game in the database.

Doubleclick on the database icon to open the game list. Click on the "Date" header.

Click until you see the games displayed in chronological order. Now select Menu Games – Fix Sort Order.

The program stores this new order permanently and the games are renumbered sequentially in the new order. All games which have no dates assigned to them will appear at the end of the database!
